Quickbooks Time: If I approve and sync hours in Quickbooks time for a vendor where does appear in QB

I have a vendor (Test) in Quickbooks Time.  If I add an hour in the month of July, approve the time, and sync to QB, in which area should I see this in Quickbooks?

 

I have searched under Expenses>Vendors and looked at "Test" vendor but nothing is appearing.

Either create a Bill or a Check and you will be prompted that there are hours and if you wish to add them.

You may also have to edit the vendor in QB to track time

Thank you.  Out of curiosity, why can you not see the entry under the vendor?  It seems logically that it would be there?

 

I will attach the pictures that show the entry in Quickbooks Sheets and QBO vendor.  Thank you.

Thanks for reaching back out to the Community. Let me share some light on this subject. 

 

There's this feature called vendor billing and it's automatic in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), but not QuickBooks Online (QBO). With that being said, in QBO, the time for vendors does export into the Weekly timesheet there. However, it stays there and doesn't travel anywhere else in the product. 

 

Although with employees, it pulls into payroll, invoices, and etc.

Thank you for the reply, Candice.

 

Is the reason also that I am using QBO Simple Start?  I have noticed that when I navigate to a project that has some vendor hours, it will show the vendor but if I try to click on the vendor name, it will reliably generate an error.

 I can share a few info on why you're prompted with the error when trying to view the project's time entry.

 

QuickBooks Time integrates with QuickBooks Online Essentials, Plus, and Advanced. For compatibility with both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Time, you'll want to upgrade to these supported versions. Let me show you how: 

 

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online as a primary or company admin.
  2. Go to the Gear icon and select Account and settings.
  3. Select the Billing & Subscription menu.
  4. Make sure your payment info is up-to-date and in the QuickBooks Online section, select Upgrade your plan.
  5. Review the available plans and then select Choose plan.
  6. Follow the on-screen steps to upgrade your plan.

After upgrading, you can try refreshing the connection and check if you're not prompted with the error anymore.

Does this also then explain why the vendor import from QB Time doesn't have a cost associated with the service?

In QBO, the service has a cost of $50 but no charge.  Thank you!

Hey again! I appreciate you coming back with your additional questions about vendors and service items. 

 

Let's get down the to core, so that we can get a better understanding of vendors and what imports over from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Time. Here's all the info that QB Time brings over from QBO: 

 

  • First name, last name, email address, mobile phone #
  • Ensure Contractor type is set to “Individual”
  • First and Last Name fields must be filled out in the Vendor profile in QuickBooks. 

 

There's no pay information or rates that pull over.
