Time Entries

Hello - I have an associate employee who has entered and saved data in time entries and I can see it on my end, but she can no longer view any data she has entered and saved. She sees total hours for the week and month and no detail pulls in under hour and client when clicking view time. This started about 3 weeks ago after the program has been working fine for many months. We tried clearing cache, using a private browser, using a different browser, using an iPad, using a computer that has never accessed QB Essentials and nothing is working. There are 3 other employee associates who have entered time and are not experiencing this issue. Does anyone know of any other steps to try - or what could be making these entries no longer available for her to view?

Time Entries

Hi Sharon112!

Allow me to assist you in fixing the time entries.

It seems that this behavior is caused by a browser error. Good to know that you cleared the cache, used an incognito, a different browser, and a different device. Ideally, this will fix any unusual behavior.

However, since the employee keeps on experiencing this issue, I suggest you reach out to our Support Team so they can investigate it.

  1. Click the (?) Help icon and enter Talk to a human (then type it again when prompted).
  2. When asked by the bot, enter "Time Entries".
  3. Select I still need a human, then proceed with Contact us or Get help from a human.
  4. Choose either Chat or Callback.

Time Entries

I recently received additional information regarding this issue. QB did a system update in January 2022 removing the viewing of time entry "staff" to be able to see any of the hours/detail they had entered on the summary page. They now have to click into add time, find a date they made an entry on, and fix it that way. The only "staff" who can now see all of the time entries in a list on the summary page is those who have the administrative role. The version of QB's I am on comes with 3 administrative roles and we don't want to provide this type of role to all staff for a multitude of reasons.
