Customize payroll email notifications

Learn how to customize payroll email preferences in QuickBooks Online Accountant.

When a client invites you to manage their payroll, the client is added to your QuickBooks Online Payroll for Accountants management.

When the client is added, you receive email notifications regarding payroll-related tasks, such as payday notifications or form filing reminders.

You can customize the payroll notifications you receive.

You can customize email settings from the client's company, opened from QuickBooks Online Accountant.

  1. Select the Settings ⚙️ icon, then Payroll Settings.
  2. Under Customize Email Preferences, select Accountant, Client, or Both from the drop-down list to edit your settings for each of the notifications.
  3. Select OK to save changes.

To save your changes, at least one of the notifications must include the accountant.

Minimize notifications

To minimize the notifications you receive, you can remove yourself, as the accountant, from all notifications other than Setup notifications.
