A prof. firm that is our customer would not pay online for the first time in many pmts online because QBs sent her to an unsecure sight "http" instead of "https". Why?

Most customers would not notice this but this customer did! The owner of our business looked at what was happening to her and confirmed that QBs opened up an unsecure sight http instead of https.

Thanks for bringing this up in the QuickBooks Community, @motherjane49.

QuickBooks uses many different email addresses to communicate to our customers. If your clients get an email you believe is from Intuit Payments,  we're here to help find out if it's legit.

Here is the list of official Intuit correspondence and websites:

Our emails will always come from an email address that ends with @intuit.com. This includes @e.intuit.com. If you ever have any doubts about an email message, don't open it until you're able to make sure it's from us.

You can check out our security notices for details of suspicious emails reported by other Intuit customers. Also, Intuit's security team posts info about SPAM and Phishing email attempts on the Intuit Online Security Center. You can forward any suspicious emails immediately to this site: https://security.intuit.com/?_ga=2.120449153.828510361.1663533035-753235689.1657211340

I have the same issue. Sent a sample invoice to myself on a different email address. When I click to pay the online invoice, Google sets up a warning "Site not secure, does not use https, etc, etc."

A local butcher shop in 2023 has not implemented Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure? Understandable...but may still lose him business if no one wants to enter credit card info for online orders.

Intuit Corporation in 2023 sends my clients to a site marked 'WARNING, NOT SECURE' for payment, of all things???? Utterly ridiculous.

Hey, Intuit!! Fix this last year, please!!!!!

Hi, actoneboston.

I recognize your frustration with the error that you and your client received. I'm here to ensure your data is protected.

Let's send the invoice on an incognito window. You can use these keyboard keys to open one:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

If it works, you can go back to the main browser, then clear the cache to refresh it.

If the error persists, I'd recommend reaching out to our phone support team. They have the tools to access your account and thoroughly investigate the error.

I've added this article as a reference in processing online payments: Take and process payments in QuickBooks Online with QuickBooks Payments.

Let me know if you have concerns about processing payments.

Same here! Why is Intuit doing this. I think I might switch to PayPal. It’s such a hassle getting paid and now this insecure  payment message that doesn’t let my client pay me.
