Join nowA client sent an invitation to the email of my QB account to view their books. When I attempt to accept, I first enter my password (email is already entered on screen). The next screen asks for firm name, phone number & zip code. Under firm name there's a link that states "don't click finish" if already have a QB account. How do I fully accept the invite since they sent it to the correct email? TIA
I'll make sure you can accept the invitation for accountant access seamlessly, @jkrichburg-jkric.
The system will give you the said prompt if you already have an existing QuickBooks account. You can sign-in directly through the QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) website using your credentials.
In this case, you don't need to set up a new account to successfully accept the invite. Just make sure to complete the required details to achieve this.
Once done, you can now review your client's books, make corrections, and fix any tricky transactions. This way, you can keep their records clean always.
Let me know in the comments if you have other questions about accountant access in QBSE. I'm here to help you.
Thanks ReyJohn_D! I signed into my QBSE account then I went back to accept the invitation adding firm name, phone & zip. When I click finish, nothing happens. If I refresh the screen (after waiting about 1 minute for movement), I am taken back to the screen to enter my password. I do not see anything on my QBSE account either.
Thanks for the quick response, @jkrichburg-jkric.
I appreciate you for following the steps presented by my colleague above. I'm here to help you accept the invitation, so you can manage your client account as soon as possible.
With this, let's make sure that you have a QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBOA) account for you to successfully accept the invitation. Once confirmed, please re-click the link, then re-fill up the data, and tap Finish. If you don't have it yet, please create it first and re-accept the invitation.
If the issue persists, I'd recommend communicating with your client and let them resend the invitation to refresh the link. There's a possibility that the link is expired. They can simply go to the Gear icon, then choose Accountant, and tap Resend invitation.
After that, accept the invitation again and follow the on-screen instructions. Once everything is set, you can now start open and review clients' accounts.
I'll share these articles with you about handling users in QBOA, the Accountant hub, and other topics.
Don't hesitate to leave a message below if you have additional questions. I'm eager to help. Keep safe.
Open a QBO Accountant account with another email address. You should not using the same email address with your own QBSE/QBO account.
