Add a beginning balance after you set up an account

You've come to the right place, @penoki.

You can create a journal entry to enter your account's beginning balance.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the New (+) icon.
  2. Choose Journal Entry.
  3. Enter a date that comes before the oldest transaction currently in the account.
  4. On the first line, select the account you want to enter the opening balance for.
  5. Use your bank statements to enter the opening balance.
  6.  On the second line, select Opening Balance Equity in the Account column.
  7. Click the Save button. Create
