Thanks for posting in the Community, @strzcinski.

There are times that the browser is full of frequently accessed page resources, causing some unusual responses. Let's try logging into your QBO account using a private browser.

Here's how to use a private browser:

  • For Google Chrome: Press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox: Press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari: Press Command + Shift + N

If it works, return to your default browser and perform a clear cache. Every so often the cache becomes overwhelmed with older data which can potentially cause viewing and performance issues. Clearing it will refresh the system, and you'll be able to work with a clean slate. You can try using other supported browsers as an alternative.

You might also want to visit our Income and expenses page, it provides topics that can help you navigate your account in QuickBooks.

Please let me know if you have further questions. I'll be around to help. Take care and have a great day.

I have cleared my cache and gone through on a private server.

What is happening is that we had a client overpay us.  The over payment was received as a credit in the "Receive Payments" window.  When the client took the credit on another payment, I tried to use the outstanding credits to apply to the new payment.  I do it and it works.  But when i go back in.  There is no credit being used.  The original over payment gets applied to existing invoices on the original payment.  So its like the over payment never happened and three invoices paid on the second payment are now paid on the first payment, which is incorrect.

i have applied credits successfully multiple times in the past.  Why is this happening now?

Hello @strzcinski,

Since you still have the same issue, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care Support. They can pull up you're account, securely, and create a case or ticket ID to be submitted to our engineers for further investigation about this unexpected behavior. You can do so by following the steps shared by my colleague, @MadelynC.

Lastly, I've got you these helpful articles you can read for ideas about how you can manage your vendors and expense transactions: Income and Expenses for QuickBooks Online.

If there's anything else that I can help you with, let me know in the comments. I'll be happy to help.
