After moving from QBooks desktop top to QBooks Online, my estimates and progress invoices did not sync in the transfer. How do I solve this problem?

Hi there, myoungdg.

Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community. I'll be sharing details on how switching from QuickBooks Desktop to Online version works. Then, to ensure that your estimates and progress invoices appear/sync in the QBO account.

The platforms for QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop are distinct. There are several features and functions that work differently and are meant to work independently. That said, when you migrate your data, your QuickBooks Desktop estimates will be converted to QuickBooks Online.
However, estimates used for progress invoicing will not link to invoices created in Desktop.

Then, for invoices, some entry features in QuickBooks Desktop aren't available in QuickBooks Online. The details below are how your invoice data will convert.

  • Logos will convert
  • Purchase Order No will convert to Custom Field 1
  • Sales Rep will convert to a Custom Field
  • Subtotals don’t convert but are included in the Description field.
  • Progress Invoices (invoices based on estimates) and their extra fields are don’t convert.
  • Other and Other Customer custom fields.

You can open this article to view further details on how your books convert from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online: What to expect when you switch from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.

To ensure that estimates and progress invoices will show in your QuickBooks Online system, I suggest manually recording all those transactions. This is to ensure that the sales data is accurate.

Lastly, you may open this article to view different details on how the Sales page gives you a great at-a-glance view of the status of sales transactions like open, paid invoices, and estimate: View sales transactions.

If you need more help about converting your data, you can click the reply button below and I'll assist you. If there's anything else you'd like to accomplish in QuickBooks, don't hesitate to include them in your reply!

@myoungdg

You have to migrate those data manually or buying a 3rd party conversion service to include those data and attachments (if any).
