There are only two ways to open it if you need to change some details for the products and services. You can either click on Edit or double-click the product and service item.

 

If you're having problem navigating on your product and services page, we can perform some troubleshooting steps check and fix any underlying browser issues. We'll start by accessing your QuickBooks Online account through a private/incognito window.

 

Depending on the browser you're using, use the keyboard shortcuts listed below:

 

  • For Google Chrome & Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari: Command + Shift + N

 

If everything looks good, you can return to your regular browser window and clear some cache.

 

You can also use other supported browsers for a more secure and best experience while working in QuickBooks Online.

All of the sudden I now have to to click twice on product/service to select an item. Why did this change and what can I do to go back to one click?

I use safari. command+option+p does not do anything for me.  command+p does work for printing.  For the last 2+ years I have been able to click once and enter a product/service number but on Monday it changed and now requires me to double click to enter a product/service.  I know it seems like a minor problem but it has really slowed me down as I am having a hard time adjusting to it.

@cdvaterlaus   Don't let them fool ya.  It's something WITHIN QB that has changed.  My cache is cleared once a week, and it has been making me double click all week long. 

 

I have seen posts that others are having the same issue.  And every time, they are told to clear the browser.  (Which just means they have NO intentions of changing it back to how it used to be).

It went back to click and enter for  about two weeks shortly after this this post but then returned to needing to double click.  There are always seem to be strange little changes to QB online and usually not improvements.

Hi there, @cdvaterlaus. I can see how upsetting this must be when adding items to the invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO). I'm here to share some insights about this. 

 

I appreciate you getting back here and providing updates about your concern. With the new way of creating invoices in QBO, it will require double clicks since the first click is for highlighting the Product/Service field, and the second one is for selecting the item.

I know how beneficial it is to your business to go back to one click when adding items to the invoice. We'd want to hear more of your insights regarding this so I recommend sending feedback to our product developers. This way, they can further review this part of the program and consider implementing it in future updates. Please refer to the steps below:

 

  1. In your QBO account, navigate to the Gear icon.
  2. Next, select the Feedback option.
  3. From there, enter the details of your product comments, suggestions, and requests. 
  4. Then, click Next to submit. 

 

When submitted, you can visit our Customer Feedback for QuickBooks Online website to track your suggestion.

 

Once everything is fine, you're next step is to record the payments for the invoices
