Am i able to take my invoice and convert it to an estimate or do i have to start fresh and make an estimate

Welcome to the Community, @webermechanicall! I can definitely explain the process to you. The way QuickBooks works is that you make an estimate first, and then convert that to an invoice for your customer. Let's start with deleting the invoice you created so we can start fresh.

  1. Go to the Invoicing menu and select Invoices up top.
  2. Find the invoice and click on the dropdown menu to the right of Receive Payments.
  3. Select Delete.

Here are the steps for creating an estimate:

  1. Go to the Invoicing menu and select All Sales.
  2. Click on New transaction in the upper right-hand corner.
  3. Select Estimate on the right under Action.
  4. Fill in the details of that estimate and then Save.

Lastly, we will convert that estimate into an invoice.

  1. Go to the Invoicing menu and select All Sales.
  2. Find the estimate you need.
  3. Select Create invoice under Action on the right.
  4. Add more details to the invoice as necessary, then select Save and close.
