Budget Covering Two Fiscal Years

I need to create a budget that covers two fiscal years. We receive a grant from October - September however, our fiscal year is April to March. How do I do this? Please answer my question specifically, not copy and pasting how to make a budget. I know how to make a budget. I need the budget to cover two fiscal years and so far that isn't an option. It only allows me to select one fiscal year.

Re: Budget Covering Two Fiscal Years

Hi there, @tasiabarnard.

There isn't a direct way to create a budget that covers two fiscal years.

As a workaround, you can create a budget as usual from January to December then pull up Budget Overview report and customize the date range from there. Let me guide you how.

  1. Go to the Reports tab.
  2. Search for Budget Overview.
  3. In the Report period section, customize the date range from 04/01/2019 to 09/30/2020.
  4. Hit Run report.

Once done, you'll be able to see the recorded budget within that fiscal year.

That's it! Let me know if you have any more questions with QuickBooks. I'll be glad to answer them for you.
