how do you add or change an account in a budget

Welcome to the Community, @arthurb1.

 

In the budget window, there isn't an option to add or change an account. Accounts in Budget depends on the type of Budget and Accounts available in the Chart of Accounts page. 

 

However, you can add an account by editing the Chart of Accounts page. Let me guide you how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then choose Chart of Accounts.
  2. Choose New to create a new account.
  3. In the Account Type ▼ drop-down menu select an account type.
  4. In the Detail Type ▼ dropdown, choose the detail type best fits types of transactions you want to track.
  5. Provide your new account name and description
  6. When done, click Save and Close.
