Budget

I created a 2019 budget in 2018, once 2019 hit the budget seems to be locked and I cannot edit the budget anymore.  Also, how do I make the new 2019 budget live and show up in my quickbooks "budget vs actual" report.

Thank you for posting here in the Community, @Humane Heroes.

Let me help you edit your budget for 2019. But first, let's try some troubleshooting steps to isolate if it's a browser issue. Try accessing your QuickBooks Online account through a private browser.

Feel free to check below for the keyboard shortcuts based on the browser you're using.

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Internet Explorer: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If it works, it means that you need to clear your browser's cache to offload some data from your browser. This way, your browser would get optimized and we'll be able to resolve the issue.

If it doesn't work, let's try using a different browser to edit your budget.

For your budget to show on the report, all you have to do is change the date range and do some customization.

Here's how:

  1. On the left panel, click on Reports.
  2. Search for "Budget vs. Actuals" on the search bar.
  3. Under the Budget drop-down, choose the budget for 2019, click on Run Report.
  4. Click on Customize.
  5. Choose what you want to see on the report, and click Run Report.

Click on Save Customization. This way, you won't have a hard time customizing the report each time you pull it up.
