You can manually add the service/labor charge to your invoice. Though, you need to manually calculate the percentage of the pretax subtotal and add them as a service fee in your invoice.
To get started, let's create a service fee item to your Products and Services. Let me show you how:
Once done, create a new invoice for the fee and send it to your customer.
Here's how:
For complete details, see this article: Manually add service fees to invoices in QuickBooks Online.

Please keep in touch if there's anything else I can do to help you succeed with QuickBooks. I've got your back. Have a great day.
Thank you, I have been doing that method so far. I was hoping that there's a way to program it the same way you add the sales tax, but a customizable amount. So that is not an option?
Thank you, yes I've been doing it that way just calculating the percentage myself and adding it as a flate rate item to the invoice. I was hoping there would be a way to do a service fee similar to a percentage gratuity, calculated automatically just like the tax is added on to the end of the invoice. Is this not possible?
Thanks for the prompt reply, @burningcedarfood.
Currently, the option to automatically calculate the service fee is unavailable. You can let our product development team know about this. Your valuable feedback will help us improve QuickBooks Online (QBO) to better serve your business needs.
Here's how:
You can track your feature requests through our QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website. For more details, please browse through this article: How do I submit feedback?

Hello, Do you know if this option has been added since the last reply?
Welcome to this conversation, @kpascoe.
Based on the information available in our system, the option to automatically calculate the service fee in QuickBooks hasn't been added yet.
In light of this, I recommend submitting a product suggestion directly to our software engineers. Your ideas and insights are valuable to us, and we are actively collecting feedback. For specific instructions, you can refer to the information provided by my colleagues earlier in this thread.
For now, you can manually include and calculate the service fee on your invoice. To find detailed instructions, I encourage you to refer to the information shared by JoesemM earlier in this conversation.
To access additional information about managing invoices in your account, you can refer to our Invoices and Payments page.
Thank you for your patience while we work on this. Feel at ease to get back to this thread if you have other concerns with QuickBooks. I'll be more than happy to help. Please take care.
Hello, yes I did submit a product suggestion. Is there a way I can be notified when it does get added?
Hello, yes I did submit a product suggestion. Is there a way for me to be notified when it does get added?
Hi there, kpascoe.
Thanks for getting back to us. I'll share some information about how you can track your submitted product suggestions or feedback for QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Though there isn't a direct way to notify you once the feature you've suggested is added, you can track feature requests through the QBO Feature Request website. Here's the link: Customer Feedback for QuickBooks Online.
Moreover, I'll add this article that tackles customizing invoices and other sales forms for future reference: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.
Please post again or leave a comment if you have more questions about this or anything else. I'm always here to assist. Keep safe.
Good luck with that. There are many useful features submitted by thousands of people that are many years old that will never see the light of day.
