Can I clean up my company transactions and start from the beginning? I added my bank account my mistake and removed. But I still see some transactions under Expenses.

Can I clean up my company transactions and start from the beginning? I added my bank account my mistake and removed. But I still see some transactions under Expenses.

Allow me to provide some options for getting a fresh start in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) company. In most cases, the best way to accomplish this is by cancelling your subscription and creating an entirely new account. If this is what you'd like to do, the articles below are sure to be of assistance:

Otherwise, as long as your account is less than 60 days old, you do have the option of Purging the company file of all data and starting over. This will make the account as though it was brand new, and everything down to the company name will be reset to default.

 

It's also recommended that you avoid this method if you are a user of QuickBooks Online for Accountants (QBOA) or QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBOP), as the purge could cause irreversible damage to these types of companies. If this is what you'd like to do, see the steps below to get started:

 

Wipe the Data from your QBO Account

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online Company.
  2. In the URL bar, change the words following the final forward slash to be purgecompany instead. (i.e. change /homepage to be /purgecompany).
  3. The next screen provides a list of all things this process will delete. You'll be prompted to type the word Yes and select OK.
  4. Click Wipe Data.

 

You'll then be rerouted to the homepage to begin entering your company information anew. We also offer an extensive guide on purging your company data that I'm sure you'll find helpful.
