Can I give a customer a nick name that does not show on the address for that customer?

I am a land lord and I keep track of my customers by street address not name. I want the name in the address box to be the customer name not the street address.

Hello there, @ole bil,


Let me help you set up your customer in QuickBooks Online. If you want to assign the street address as the client's name when creating sales transactions, use it as the Display Name on their profile.


Follow the steps below:


  1. Go to the Sales section and select Customers.
  2. Click on New Customer or choose an existing customer from the list then press Edit.
  3. Enter the street address in the Company field then their real name on the next line (First name, Middle name, Last name, Suffix).
  4. From the Display name as drop-down, select the address.
  5. You may leave the Address field black if you don't want to see it on the sales forms.
  6. Hit Save when done.

The moment you create a sale for this customer, the address field will show both the address and the real name. Here's how it looks like:
