First, make sure to add the correct business address so we'll be able to set up the right tax agency for your sales tax.
Follow the steps below:
- Go to the Taxes menu and then Sales Tax.
- Select Set up sales tax.
- Check your address and then select Next.
Your business address is now set as the default location in your next invoice or sales receipt. However, you can always change the location of the transaction. Check this article for more information about this: Set up where you collect sales tax in QuickBooks Online.
In case the added location on the invoice will be removed upon saving it, then I suggest clearing the browser's cache. There are times that the browser you're using has information stored that's stopping or causing this error.
I recommend using a private browser or an incognito window when trying to process it. Then, you may clear the cache in the one that you're currently using if it works. Here’s how:
- For Chrome, press Ctrl+Shift+N.
- For Internet Explorer or Firefox, press Ctrl+Shift+P.
- For Safari, hold down Command+Shift+N.
If it works, here's how to delete or disable cache and temporary internet files in your web browser. Once you're done clearing your browser's cache, restart your browser for the changes to take effect. If not, try using other browsers.
