Can someone tell me how to filter custom reports by transaction date and then reference number?

Since QB Online has updated my custom reports are all out of order. I need to reconcile my October books and reports need to be prioritized by date first, but then to make the process easier, reference number needs to be next.

Great to see you here, Kristy. You can filter your custom reports to your preferred data, and I'd be glad to guide you through.

Before we begin, are you referring to the Transaction Date and Number columns in your custom report? Any additional information provided will help us provide exact solutions.

In the meantime, we can filter your custom report columns for a convenient reconciliation reference:

  1. Go to the Reports tab and select Custom reports.
  2. Select the specific custom report you'd like to customize.
  3. Adjust the Report period from October 01 to October 31.
  4. Click on the Columns icon. Ensure the Transaction Date column comes first, followed by the Number column. You can drag each column to reorder them.

  5. To display the transactions in ascending order, click the Arrow icon next to the Transaction Date.

  6. You can click on Save to keep this for future reference.

If the built-in sorting functionality doesn't fit your needs, you can export your custom reports to Excel for more suitable customization.

You can return to this thread for any further assistance.
