Can't edit account type

sub-account, i can't edit account type. help says to edit the account, but i'm not given the drop down arrow under action to edit it, therefore i cannot change parent/sub-accounts. Please help

Can't edit account type

Thanks for reaching out again to the Community forum, @mandy15.

 

When changing the account type of the accounts, you'll need to start it with the sub-accounts, reversing their sub-accounts status and then change their account types. 

 

Here's what you'll need to do:

  1. Click the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Under Your Company, pick Chart of Accounts.
  3. Locate the sub-account you'd want to change.
  4. Select Edit from the Action column drop-down menu,
  5. In the Account dialogue, clear the Is sub-account checkbox.
  6. Choose the new Account Type from the drop-down menu.
  7. Pick the appropriate Detail Type from the drop-down list.
  8. Hit Save and Close and Yes in the prompt to change the account.

You can follow the above steps for the other sub-accounts you'd want to change. Then, change the account type for the parent account.
