Can't make Service active despite associated account being active.

On my Products and Services page, I have a service that shows as deleted. When I try to make it active, I get an error that I need to make the associated account active first. But the income account in the Chart of Accounts IS active. Anyone know how I can get out of this loop? Thanks.

Re: Can't make Service active despite associated account being active.

I finally figured this out myself. I think it is an issue and have reported it to the support team. The issue is that I had many sub-accounts associated with the account and service. The main account was "Dues" (membership dues for an organization). The sub-accounts were dues by year. Services were set up the same way. Turns out that ALL the sub-accounts need to be active before the main one shows up as not deleted. So I had to reactivate all the sub-accounts for 15 years, then do the same for the services, just to get a report on the last 3 years of members. Seems like a "feature" bug to me.

Thanks for sharing your concern with us today, @MMLA.

Let me share some insights about the isolating unexpected issues like this in QuickBooks Online.

Generally, when you encounter unexpected errors in QuickBooks, it's recommended to try the browser troubleshooting. This is to determine if the browser is causing the issue. At times, the stored data can cause some odd errors and simply needs to be cleared from the browser. For additional information on this and steps for supported browsers, please visit the following link: How Do I Clear My Browser Cache And Temporary Internet files?.

If doing this process doesn't make a difference, It'd be best to reach out to our Customer Care Team. They have the tools to further verify the issue and add you to the list of the affected user is there's an ongoing investigation.
