Can we create statements for our customers with an option to pay off their invoices?

Creating a customer's statement with a payment option is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO), ldavis.

Our product engineers are always on the lookout for ways to give you the best experience in using QBO. I'll send your idea directly to them, so they'll be able to review and put this to work in the future.

You can check out our QuickBooks Blog to stay current on all the product updates and announcements.

Let us know if you have any other concerns. We'll be here to help. Have a wonderful day.

Can we create statements for our customers with an option to pay off their invoices?

Hey there, @Jud Whidden

Thanks for following the thread.

We do have the option to create and send customer statements in QuickBooks Online. When customers have outstanding balances or invoices that will soon be overdue, you can send them a statement. There are three different types of customer statements in QBO.

  • Balance Forward
  • Open Item
  • Transaction Statements

Here's how you can create a customer statement:

  1. From the Sales menu, click on the Customers tab.
  2. Select the checkboxes for the customers you want to make a statement for.
  3. In the Batch actions dropdown menu, hit Create statements
  4. From the Statement Type dropdown, choose the statement type.
  5. Pick the dates for the statements and the date range.
  6. Check the customer's email address and select Save, Save and close, Save and send, or Print or Preview

That's all there is to it. Check out Create and send customers statements in QuickBooks Online for more details about this process.

Please let me know if you have additional questions or concerns. I'm happy to lend a hand anytime. Have a great day!

Yes, but you can't send a payment link with the statement. That is what I would like to do.

Hello @Jud Whidden,

As of the moment, there isn't an integrated way to send a statement that allows your customers to pay their outstanding balance with it. That said, let's consider letting our product developers know about your request by sending feedback.

Requests from other customers, like you, through this channel, helps our engineers improve the software to offer the best services based on your business needs. You can do so by following the steps below:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter a few words describing how you wish to use the payment link for statements.
  4. Click Next.

On top of that, I've also included this reference helpful with the latest articles about the enhancements made recently: Customer Feedback for QuickBooks Online.

You can always leave a comment below if you have follow-up questions with this or start a new thread if you have any other concerns. I'll be here to lend a hand. Stay safe!

Any update on adding a payment link on statements

We already took note of this feature request, Luebweld.

I can see how functionality to add a payment link on statements would be beneficial to your business. However, we don't have a specific timeline as to when it will be available. You can visit our Customer Feedback for QuickBooks Online website to track your feature request.

For more details about sending a product suggestion, please see this article: How do I Submit Feedback?.

Additionally, I've added this article that'll help you personalize your sales forms in QuickBooks Online. This helps you add the info that matters most to your business: Customize Invoices, Estimates, and Sales Receipts.

I'm just a comment away if there's anything else you need. Take care always, Luebweld.

QB Payment doesn't offer yet such feature. You may find it in a 3rd party merchant service and it supports QBO/QBD.

Years later and no fix. Just spend an hour on the phone with them and they told me to use a payment link. I have too many customers that pay by statement and this is no viable option. I'm very disappointed that this is being overlooked. I guarantee that if Intuit was sending statements to receive payments from us (their customers) that this would have been solved years ago.

Hello redjed,

I hear your sentiments about the option to use a payment link when paying customer statements.

As of now, this option isn't available in QuickBooks Desktop. I'm also unable to provide an exact turnaround time on when such a feature like this will be added to the program.

With that said, I'd recommend sending a feature request to our developers team. Let me guide you with these steps:

  1. From the Help menu, select Send Feedback Online.
  2. Click Product Suggestion.
  3. On the Product Area section, choose Customers Sales.
  4. Enter a brief description of how you want to include a payment link in a customer statement.
  5. Select Send Feedback.
  6. Click Close Window.

I've also added this link that has detailed information on how you can maximize the functionality of QuickBooks Desktop: Help Articles in QuickBooks Desktop.

Feel free to get back to our thread whenever you have additional or different concerns with your QuickBooks file.

Still no link to send to customers with their statement??? For some reason I cannot leave feedback in quickbooks.  Showing up greyed out when I try.

So, I would like to again say that many people would use the feature of copying a link to a statement for customers. I use the link for invoices all the time. But, it would be much easier for the customer to see the entire balance of all of the invoices in one place with a link to pay.

Hello there, @hhproperties412.

All QuickBooks users can send their product suggestions every time. There isn't a limit as to how often or how much feedback or insights you can share with our developers.

Regarding the information on when our engineers review and work on the requests, that is something we can't provide at the moment. Our developers are working internally when it comes to projects and product enhancements. To stay updated with any changes in our program (Desktop and Online), visit this link any time: QuickBooks Product Updates.

We also want to let you know that not only our developers can take part with the enhancements, you can also be part of it. There is a separate forum called Intuit Developers, where you can find and connect with our developers who can help with app integrations, take part with our software developments and innovate business tools for QuickBooks.

I'm adding these links below just in case you're interested:

If you have other questions or need further assistance with anything in QuickBooks, I'll always be here for you. Have a nice day.

Can we create statements for our customers with an option to pay off their invoices?

Thank you for your first post today, Fernando. I hear your sentiments about this matter, and I know how creating statements for customers with the option to pay off their invoices would benefit your business needs. Let me provide some updates on this functionality.

You can send statements to your clients in QuickBooks to show them details of their invoices, payments, credits, and balances. However, letting the customers pay their dues from the statements isn't available for now. Rest assured our engineers are working nonstop to enhance the product and deliver the best experiences for all QuickBooks users.

While we don't know when this functionality will be ready, I recommend submitting a feature request directly to our product developers. It allows them to assess the possibility of including this in future releases. To start:

  1. Go to the Help menu, then click on Send Feedback Online.
  2. Tap on Product Suggestion.
  3. Enter a short description of your concern.
  4. Click on Send Feedback.

If you had QuickBooks Online (QBO), submit your feedback by following these steps:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then Feedback.
  2. Enter your comments or product suggestions.
  3. Tap Next to proceed.

Once done, our product development team receives and uses your valuable suggestions to improve your QuickBooks experience.

Additionally, you may check out the information from these articles as a reference to learn more about statements for both products:

Aside from that, you may run through the resources from these websites to learn the different ways of tracking your customer entries in our system:

We need this for our business, too.  To be honest, I am astonished that QBO does not have the option to add a payment link to customer statements, especially so inasmuch as that feature is available when the initial invoice is sent.  Our follow up customer statements assess a late fee so that the amount due from the customer increases to a different amount from the original overdue invoice.  We would absolutely love to have a payment link added to customer statements.  Please QBO get this done ASAP!

I truly agree.

Intuit apparently does not care if their customers are happy or not.

Another really important issue with statements that the project names do not come up on the statements.

It;s absolutely ridiculous that Quickbooks has not implemented this option for customers to pay a statement balance.  Obviously they do not really care.  They keep sayin the same thing... that they care and are working on it.  It's been over four years in this thread alone and there is still no resolution.
