Can we go back on a paid invoice? We entered the wrong amount as Paid on a customer's invoice. How do we correct this in Quick Books?

Good evening, @boxwood1.

 

I'd be glad to assist you with editing a paid invoice on your QuickBooks Online account.

 

If you're needing to change the amount of an invoice that you've already received payment from, you can edit and make the necessary edits from there. Once done, the invoice with show up the balance due and the amount of payment made. Also, editing that invoice after receiving payment will affect some reports in QuickBooks Online.

 

To edit a paid invoice here's how:

  1. Select the Sales tab on the left menu, the Invoices.
  2. Choose the invoice you need to edit, then click the drop-down arrow under Action.
  3. Click on View/Edit.
  4. Make the necessary edit to the invoice.

Once done, the invoice will show the balance due and the amount of payment at the upper right corner of the Invoice page.
