Cannot send invoices with Quickbooks Email

I am using QB desktop pro 2016.  I use Quickbooks email to send out invoices & have done so for many years with no issues.  Today I cannot send any emails via Quickbooks email.  I consistently get the message '503 Service Service Temporarily unavailable'.  When I  shut the error message window down, I have the email 'send' window that pops up usually when a 'send' is in process.  It then says 'Unable to send' & 'Quickbooks is unable to log into the server'.

Is there an issue with the system at the moment?  Or do I have a problem my end?  I need this resolved ASAP as I am about to do end of the month billing to all my customers.  Thank you for any help anyone can provide!

Hello Keelychurchill,

Let's get this working as as possible so you can send those emails out to your customers.

First, make sure that QuickBooks is running as administrator. Please follow these steps:

  1. Right-click QuickBooks icon and click Properties.
  2. Go to the Compatibility Tab.
  3. Deselect Run this program as Administrator.
Note: If Run this program as Administrator is grayed out, then first select the "Show Settings for All Users".
  4. Click Okay.
  5. Exit and restart QuickBooks.

Once completed, please try sending an email again to check if that works. Is the issue persists, please visit this article for more steps to follow: Error: QuickBooks is unable to send your email to Outlook.

Let me know if you're still the same error, I would gladly get back here to look for other options.

Does not work for me and i am sick of it.

It worked fine for years then when they think you should up grade things stop working right.

I have tried setting up three different email addresses.

Hi there, @nohub.

It seems you've been through a lot in trying to send your forms via email. Allow me to chime in and help share some information about sending invoices with QuickBooks email.

To provide greater security and stability, all connections used by QuickBooks Desktop to access Intuit services will need to meet certain system requirements to keep features like Payroll, Online Banking, and Payments working.

While this is not working for you, I recommend changing your email preferences. You can use Outlook or other webmail services such as Gmail, Yahoo, and others.

Here's how to set up Secure Webmail:

  1. Go to the Edit menu, then choose Preferences, then select Send Forms.
  2. Select WebMail, then click Add.
  3. Choose your provider from the drop-down and enter your email address.
  4. Ensure that the Use Enhanced Security checkbox is checked, then select OK.
  5. When prompted, sign in to your Intuit account. The username or email address you use here may not necessarily be the same as the one you are connecting to your QuickBooks.
  6. Your webmail provider's login page will display. Sign in and choose to grant Intuit access.

Please refer to the following articles below for more details:

Unable to email transactions or send forms using QuickBooks email service

If you do have the following subscriptions mentioned above, then it's possible that you have entered an incorrect login account.

As always, you can contact our Desktop Live support if you need further assistance. Just press F1 on your QuickBooks and click the Contact us link.

This should get you on the right track in sending your forms. Please let me know if you have other questions about sending your forms through email. I'll be here to help however I can.
