Cash Flow Planner No Longer Showing Outstanding Balances As Inflows

Previously the cash flow planner would show the invoice remaining balance as cash inflows on the invoice due date, now it is showing the full invoice amount even if a partial payment has been made, which is grossly overstating my expected cash flow.

You're right, the cash flow planner would display the invoice's remaining balance. Since the system shows the full transaction amount even if a partial payment is made, there might be some data corruption that causes the browser's stored cache to misinterpret the updated transaction details, preventing the planner from reflecting the most recent payment application.

To rule out a damaged cache or script error, you can access your QuickBooks Online account in an incognito window or a different browser to check if this is browser-specific.

I tried clearing cache and tried a different browser, made no difference. It is happening with an incognito window as well.

Let's verify if your invoices officially show a Partially Paid status. If a payment was recorded but not explicitly linked via the Receive Payment screen, the planner will still see that invoice as Open for the full amount. Also, click the invoice directly within the Cash Flow Planner to see if the amount field shows the original total or the remaining open balance.

The planner allows for manual edits, so we want to see if it's pulling the correct data from your books or if it's stuck on the gross total.

If your invoices are already correctly linked as Partially Paid but the planner is still stubbornly showing the full amount, that confirms the automated sync between your records and the planner isn't working as intended.

Let me know what you find after checking those two things so we can determine the best next step.
