I appreciate you joining the conversation, @janice dsc.
Increasing the font size of the items in your transactions are currently unavailable in QuickBooks. As my colleague mentioned, this option is only available in your report.
Let me pass along your feedback to our developers for consideration in future product enhancements. If there are any changes to the status of the request, I'll let you know by updating this thread.
In the meantime, I recommend checking the newest features added to QuickBooks Desktop by following these steps:

I just spent over $3000 for a new laptop, and the display in Quickbooks Desktop 2018 Pro is so bad that it's barely usable. I have tried every setting change that has been recommended, but unless I make my computer and every other program look like complete garbage, I am stuck with tiny buttons and links inside QB. This is reprehensible considering how much we pay to upgrade Intuit software every year. It should work with Windows settings just like every other program, and that doesn't seem like too much to ask.
I understand your thoughts, @universal2014.
I can pass along your feedback on my end. Letting us know what's best for you will also show our developers what they need to consider in future product updates.

Same issue here. I've been using QB for 15 years and I ONLY want to make the QB Font bigger. I don't want to affect my entire 3-monitor 4K computer platform. That's a waste. Every other program is fine. QB uses horrible hard-to-read fonts. When I'm sitting here reconciling 12 months of bank statements this gives me a huge headache. Please fix this. There are hundreds of request threads for this across the quickbooks community.
This isn't the type of service we want you to experience, @TommyJordan.
I know how it feels when you don't want to affect your computer settings to increase the font sizes. However, the steps provided by my peers above are the alternative ways in getting them bigger. With this, I'll personally take note of your suggestion. Also, I'll forward it to our product engineers so they can consider it for future updates.
If you're using the 2019 version, I'd suggest visiting this link: What's New. It helps you stay current on all our product improvements.
You can count me in if there's anything else you need. Take care always, @TommyJordan.
The random font and scaling sizes have bothered me from the start when I got set up with QBPro 2018. Today I finally found this link and after following the suggestions, I seemed to solve the problem for my system. I am using Window 10 with a 4K screen.
Under compatibility I have checked the "Program DPI" and "High DPI Scaling" boxes with "System Enhanced" selected.
It took me a while to find the actual QBW32pro file location and then selecting Properties. For some reason following the file location from the Windows Application list just brought me to the shortcut of QuickBooks Pro 2018 and the Properties window here seem to not affect the running of my actual QB application.
Anyway.... My two cents worth....
I appreciate the very detailed information you've provided. Other users will be able to use this as an additional workaround if they encounter the same issue.
Please know that you're always welcome to post. Wishing you and your business continued success!
Using the process that is described does not fix this issue what it does is change my entire computer display and not for the good! I would like the font in quickbooks 2019
program to be larger that that that is on my cell phone
No one at QuickBooks really cares that it takes a magnifying glass to read the screen. I have been trying to get this issue fixed for two years and NO ONE there either knows how to, or cares how to fix it for their customers.
Hi there, @DaisyPub.
Our developers assess the innovations based largely on the preferences we've gathered from our users. I can see how convenient it would be once the font size of your QuickBooks changed without affecting the computer's display.
To stay current with our news/updates about the developments of our platforms, stay up-to-date with the latest events and releases, I recommend visiting our Intuit Developer's Forum. This is the best place to go on when it comes to our plans on how to meet the customers' needs and demands.
I also suggest checking out the New Feature section on your QuickBooks regularly, to see what's new with QuickBooks.
Reach out to me here if you have any further questions, I want to make sure you're taken care of. Thanks for coming to the Community.
I have a solution. Fairly Easy too! Close Quickbooks
Go to this path in Windows Explorer:
Make a copy of the qbw.ini file (in case you have problems) and then open qbw.ini (in notepad)
Locate or add the section [Fonts] and make it look like:
You can use any font size or name you like.
Close and save changes, then reopen Quickbooks
The font will now be whatever size and style you entered.
This is not a solution. This modification effects ALL other programs running on the computer. So everything else works just fine.....quickbooks does not....there solution make everything else not work. Such is the arrogance of intuit.
Thank you for joining this thread, @DeltRandom.
The suggestion of computermomof6 is an alternative on how to increase your font display which something unsupported in QuickBooks.
The qwa.ini file contains information pertaining to QuickBooks settings and other preferences. If used incorrectly, it may cause issues with the program, that's the reason why computermomof6 advised to make a back-up.
Still I agree that configuration should be done in-product and we've relayed this limitation to our product engineers to consider for future updates. In the meantime, I recommend visiting our page for new updates: Product Updates.
Please let me know if there's anything else you need. I'm just around to help.
If I may be blunt, it is absolutely laughable that the font size cannot be changed in a window setting. I have been in software dev for 30 years and I don't think I have seen an issue like this treated as if it were rocket surgery. Good grief.
