company snapshot screen will not close and forces closing of QB

The snapshot screen will not close.  When I try to close the screen, QB shuts down with unrecoverable error.  and I am not able to back up.

I can share some troubleshooting steps so that you can get back to work, @deb9711. There are some reasons why you've encounter this unrecoverable error in QuickBooks. 

 

  • Missing Windows or QuickBooks updates
  • Damage to your data
  • Computer issues
  • Program code needs repairing

 

We can run Rebuild data tools to determine if this caused by data damage. I'll guide you how: 

 

  1. Click the File then choose Utilities. Select Rebuild Data
  2. On the pop-up message click OK. Then follow the on-screen message to save a backup.  
  3. Let the tool repair your file. Once finished, tap OK
  4. Tap the File menu, then select Utilities. Then choose Verify Data
  5. This will check your file for data issues.

Once done, You'll need to restart your QuickBooks to revamp it. 

 

However, if the issue persists you can reach out to our customer support to check the error, as they have the tools to pull up your account and fix it.

Does work, as to run a re build you have to CLOSE all windows...... then it does the unrecoverable error with shut down.

 

Converted the company file to QB2020 and it is still there.

 

QB was supposed to contact about grabbing the company file but that was Tuesday night and have not heard from them yet.
