I appreciate that you reported this to us, @shirley32. You can add custom fields to some reports in QuickBooks Online (QBO). However, It's not available in the Profit & loss report.
You can run another report such as the Transaction list by customer and the Transaction list by vendor to track your income and expenses with Custom fields.
