Confused | Expenses on Credit Cards are Marked as "Credit" and "-xx.xx", but bank expenses are logged "xx.xx" | They're counteracting in my expense log rather than adding

I just don't get why my expenses logged in my bank account would not be added to my expenses added to my credit card... but as it stands now - they're counteracting each other and reducing the expense number?

It looks like these are downloaded transactions, Rdeaver-nobullma. Let me share some information.

QuickBooks Online is dependent on what your bank shares with us. You'll want to reach out to them and verify how they send the transactions.

When both bank and credit card accounts are connected to Online Banking, they will be reducing each other's expenses. The reason for this is because you transfer the payment from the bank account to the credit card. Then, match it to the credit card's expenses to zero it out.

I'll include the articles about bank and credit card set up to guide you better:

However, if you mean the transactions have been interchanged, we'll have to exclude them. This way, you're unable to add them to the respective accounts. Then, download them manually instead, so you can record them to the correct ones.

Don't hesitate to let us know if you have additional questions. We'll get back to this thread as soon as we can. Take care!
