Hi there, @joangugg.

I'm here to sort things out for you. Once you add the name of the donor to the transaction, it will be linked automatically to its profile. Let's ensure we add it to the donor list.

Here's how to add a donor:

  1. Go to the Sales menu, and then select Customers/Donors.
  2. Choose New Customer/Donors.
  3. Enter your customer’s/donor's information.
  4. Once done, click Save.

Also, for future reference, feel free to check out this article to guide you in tracking fund donations you receive from donors in QuickBooks Online.

If you need further assistance, don't hesitate to get back in here. I'd be glad to lend a hand. Have a pleasant day.

Hello there, joangugg.

Thanks for posting in the QuickBooks Community!

It seems that you're referring to the customer payments that were missing after you converted your file. If I'm correct, what I can suggest is to manually record them in QuickBooks Online. You can create a sales receipt or record a payment against an invoice. Please check these articles for more details:

Also, please check this article about the limitation when converting the QuickBooks Desktop file.

I'll be here if you need anything else. Have a great day!

I was limited when I could post to begin. The customer is missing but the Balance sheet and the Profit and Loss are correct. So don't know what to do. All money is correct so If I add the customer how do I tie the money to them?

Actually these is a non-profit so the money has to show as a donation from them for receipting purposes.

Thank you in advance for any help

I was limited in first comment. This is a non-profit. I have checked the Balance Sheet and the profit and loss and all numbers are correct. The donor is missing so don't know what to do. I have to show that they gave the money for tax purposes  I could add the donor but how would I connect them to the money?? Thank you for any help

Thank you for response! After going into old Quickbooks I found the the 3 missing donors were all inactive. I have gone into list and clicked to include inactive but they are still not there. So you believe it is safe to add as Donor and  and then find the transactions and link to them?
