Cost of Goods Sold

Hi, everyone. We buy computers, monitors and other electronics at distributer prices and then charge retail. We do not keep them as inventory, just as we need them for specific jobs. Would I categorize those purchases at COGS or expenses?

Is there a report to run that shows income from these transactions?

No, they are not COGS, they are COS, Cost of Sales.  In the chart of accounts create a new COGS type account and select the COS detail type and use that for purchases that are not stocked but are resold.

If you mean income from a sale, about all there you can do is run a customer P&L, sometimes that works

Thank you for your response! I do not have Cost of Sales as an option. I have:

Cost of Labor- COS

Equipment Rental- COS

Other Costs of Services- COS

Shipping, Freight, and delivery- COS

Supplies and Materials- COGS
