Cost of items purchased vs profit of assembly sold

We have inventory assembly items that include 3 components of inventory parts. I am trying to find a simple report that shows how much it costs me to produce the assembly item (=cost of item 1+item 2+item 3) versus how much profit I make on each assembly when I sell them. So far I've only found reports that show me the profitability for a time period or per job. But I just want the report to give me the overall snapshot of just the assembly item. Does this exist?

Re: Cost of items purchased vs profit of assembly sold

Good day, adirato.

QuickBooks is unable to run a report that will give you an overall snapshot of just the assembly item. However, you can run an Item Profitability report, then filter a specific assembly item by date.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Select Job, Time & Mileage, and choose Item Profitability.

I've added an article on how to customize reports in Quickbox Desktop.
