Custom Chart of Accounts

I am about to building multiple business accounts, and i need their chart of accounts to be the same.  I would like to import the chart of accounts into each QBO account.  There will also be many accounts that i need to make inactive. Is there a way to make multiple accounts inactive at the same time?  Or does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Custom Chart of Accounts

Hi there, David.

I'm here to share some information about how the Chart of Accounts works.

Currently, the option to deactivate multiple accounts at once is unavailable in QuickBooks Online. To customize the Chart of Accounts, you'll have to individually make them inactive. Then, upload your custom accounts to QuickBooks Online from a spreadsheet. Here's how:

  1. Select Accounting from the sidebar menu.
  2. Go to Chart of Accounts.
  3. Find the account you want to deactivate.
  4. Click the dropdown arrow from the Action column, then click Make inactive.
  5. When you're done, it's time to import the accounts.

I'm also adding these resources to help manage and organize your Chart of Accounts:
