Custom dates not working for "Transaction Detail by Account" reports

I am trying to create a "Transaction Detail by Account" report, and the Custom Dates feature is not working. I need a report that goes back 4 years, but when I enter the dates I only see transactions for this year (2020).

I am using QB Desktop Mac 2020.

Custom dates not working for "Transaction Detail by Account" reports

Good morning, @DMansfield

Thank you for reaching out to the Community.

You may be experiencing some data-integrity issues that could be preventing your report to show further dates. Sometimes, we see instances where the file can hold small errors that affect the reports, such as the one with yours. I recommend running a Verify and Rebuild to scan and resolve the errors in the file. I've included the steps below to run the utilities.

Verify Data:

  1. Open the File menu at the top. Click on Utilities, then Verify
  2. Select OK to close all windows for the Verify to begin.

Rebuild Data:

  1. From the File menu, click on Utilities again. Then, choose Rebuild.
  2. Hit OK to close all windows.
  3. QuickBooks will ask to create a back up first. You can choose to Cancel if you wish to continue without a backup.

Check out Verify and rebuild data in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac for further details.
