Dates that Customer Accounts opened

I am looking to track old and new clients each year.  Is there a date field accessible of the date in which a Customer Account was created?

Re: Dates that Customer Accounts opened

Thanks for joining QuickBooks Community, @1629cds.

There’s no field or information you can pull up in QuickBooks Desktop that will say when the customer was created. I recommend using the first transaction’s date as a basis instead.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Customers menu and select Customer Center.
  2. Select the customer from the list.
  3. On the Transactions tab, click the Date column to sort the date from the oldest.

To keep a record of the data gathered, add a custom field in the customer’s profile and name it Created Date. Once you need the information again run the Customer Phone List report.

For custom field:

  1. Double-click the customer's name from the list.
  2. Choose Additional Info tab in the Edit Customer window.
  3. Click the Define Fields button.
  4. Enter Created Date under the Label column.
  5. Place a check mark to Cust, Vend, Empl columns.
  6. Hit OK.
  7. Add the date on the Created Date field in the Edit Customer window, then click OK.

For report:

  1. Go to the Reports menu and select Customers & Receivables.
  2. Choose Customer Phone List
  3. Click the Customize Report button on the report.
  4. On the Display tab, enter Created Date on the Columns search bar.
  5. Place a check mark next to it.
  6. Hit OK to save the changes.

That should get you pointed in the right direction.
