Default Accounting Method for Reports

My company's accounting method is set to accrual, but several of my reports (balance sheet and p&l particularly) keep defaulting to cash basis. 

 

I found this post from someone who was having a similar problem: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/global/reports/i-have-set-to-accrual-accounting-method-i...

 

The Intuit response suggests logging in in incognito mode. I did that, it didn't help.

 

The Intuit response also suggests clearing cache and history. I did that, it didn't help.

 

I do not want to set up custom reports that default to accrual method. I just want my reports to run on accrual method like they're supposed to.

 

Is there any way to fix this?

Default Accounting Method for Reports

Thanks for letting us know the steps you've done so far, @apmessner.

 

Have you tried using a different browser? You can also switch to a different one to see if it has something to do with the browser you're currently working on.

 

You can choose either of these:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Safari 11 or newer (Mac only)

 

If your reports are still set to cash basis, I'd recommend reaching out to our Customer Care Team support to further investigate this issue. 

 

Here's how:

  1. Click the (?) Help icon in the upper right-hand corner of the Dashboard.
  2. Select Talk to a Human.
  3. Enter a short description of your concern and press Enter.
  4. Click I still need a human.
  5. Select Contact Us to connect with our live support.
  6. Choose Get a callback.

In the meantime, you can customize your reports and set them to Accrual basis. You can also memorize them so you don't have to go through the customization process again.

Hi, thanks for the response.

 

Yes, I've run the reports in Chrome and Edge and in incognito/private mode, with the same result every time.
