Good afternoon.  This is my first year with quick books and owning my own business. I recently realized that I was not depositing my deposits in quick books and at the end of the year I did one big deposit. Which of course is throwing my year end reports off.  Anyway to go back and fix these deposits.

Good Afternoon to you as well. Allow me to help you with entering the deposits in QuickBooks Desktop.


I recommend you delete the lump sum deposit you've made and enter them one by one to ensure the reporting is correct. In case you need the steps, I'm adding the detailed steps down below:


  1. Click the List tab at the top menu bar.
  2. Click Chart of Accounts.
  3. Double-click the bank account.
  4. Search for the deposit on the register.
  5. Right-click the deposit.
  6. Select Delete Deposit.
  7. Click OK.


If you're unsure on how to record them, you can also reach out to an accountant for an expert's advice to ensure your books are correct.
