Edit Chart of Accounts Sublevels

I want to edit multiple accounts by placing making one a parent and the rest a sublevel. Is there a way to accomplish this with multiple accounts or must I do them one at a time?

For example... see illustration

Current

3000 Classes

3005 English

3010 Spanish

Want it to be

3000 Classes

  - 3005 English

  - 3010 Spanish

Re: Edit Chart of Accounts Sublevels

Hi there, Stutz.

Thanks for taking the time to reach out here in the Community. I'd be glad to provide some info on your question regarding editing sub-accounts.

There are many ways to modify and customize the look of your Chart of Accounts in QuickBooks Online. The type of edit in your illustration would need to be completed one account at a time. I can show you how:

1. Click the Gear icon in the top right corner.

2. Select Chart of Accounts.

3. Choose New.

4. Select the account and detail type.

5. Click Is a sub-account and enter the parent account.

6. Enter a name and optional display name and description.

7. Enter the sub-account's balance and the "as of" date, if necessary.

8. Click Save and close.

I've got an article for you that offers additional details on using parent and sub-accounts. You can check it out here: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/chart-of-accounts/organize-your-accounts-into-pare....

Please feel free to comment below if you have any other questions. I'll be here to help.
