employee quickreport displays zero for employee direct deposit

Hello, BJ Heckman.

I have details on why the QuickReport shows zero net pay amount for direct deposit checks. I can also show you a workaround on how you can get the complete direct deposit check details.

The Employee QuickReport is based on the data from your bank register. For an overview, a payroll liability check is automatically generated whenever you send direct deposit. This reduces the balance from your register because the net amounts on the paycheck are already included in the liability check.

You can read more details here

Instead of using the QuickReport, you'll want pull up a custom report to show the direct deposit amounts:

  1. Click the Reports menu.
  2. Hover your mouse on Custom Reports, then select Transaction Detail
  3. Go to the Filters tab.
  4. Type "Name" on the filter search box, then select All employees. You can also choose specific employees by selecting one or using the Multiple names option.
  5. Enter "Transaction Type" in the search box, then select Paycheck
  6. Search for Date, then specify the date range.
  7. Once done, click OK.

You can also use a generated Excel data summary report. This will display all direct deposit details and amounts. It also includes payrolls that were paid through regular checks. Here's how:

  1. Go to Reports again.
  2. Hover your mouse over Employees & Payroll
  3. Select Summarize Payroll Data in Excel.
  4. Choose the desired date range and other information.
  5. Once done, click Get QuickBooks Data.

We also have a variety of QuickBooks Desktop articles in our support page. Be sure to check them out if you need help with other payroll tasks.

I can show you another guide or overview if you have other questions. Feel free to leave a comment below, or you can also start a new topic.
