Filter by Donor on the Budget Versus Actual Report

Hi, Angella22.

We can customize the budget vs. actuals report to filter the transaction by donor. Let me show you how to accomplish this:

  1. In your QBO account, go to the Reports menu.
  2. Next, scroll down to the Business Overview section and choose Budget vs. Actuals.
  3. Click the Customize button.
  4. From the Filter section, select Donor.
  5. Click Run report.

I adding some articles about managing a wide range of reports in QBO. Feel free to check them out anytime:

Filter by Donor on the Budget Versus Actual Report

Hi there, @Angella22. Allow me to share some insights about the report.

The Budget vs. Actual report lets you compare your company's actual revenues and expenses to your budgeted amounts. This report gives you the variance to know whether you're over or under budget.

Additionally, we enter budgets per account for a specific date interval. Thus, we're unable to filter the report by donors. I can see how this would be helpful for your business. Rest assured that I'll relay this message to our team in concern here on my end and add your vote for this one.

You can also share your thoughts and ideas through your account. Our product development team reviews all the feedback we receive to ensure we’re meeting the needs of our customers.

Here's how:

  1. Select the Gear icon at the top, then Feedback.
    Capture.JPG
  2. Enter your comments or product suggestions then select Next.
  3. You'll be provided a list of suggested Help articles related to your comment. You can read through them or select Skip and send message.
  4. From the drop-down, choose the appropriate category, then select Send message.

For your reference, check out this link: How to Submit Feedback

In the meantime, you may consider creating a budget report by donors using a spreadsheet. Then, generate and compare it to the Profit and Loss by Donor report in QBO.

I'm always here if you need further assistance with getting your desired report, @Angella22. Just comment down below, and I'll be happy to help.
