From the phone app: When sending invoices via email, is there a way to have the app auto-populate the invoice # into the subject line? Currently it just says [Invoice #].

I would like the subject line to auto fill the invoice number: something along the lines of "Invoice #12345 from MyBizNiss" as opposed to the current "Invoice [Insert Invoice # Here] from MyBizNiss"

Currently, auto-populating the invoice number into the subject line isn't possible. I can see the importance of having this feature to your business. With that, I suggest sending feedback to our product developers so they can review and might consider adding this in our future updates.

Here's how:

Go to the Gear icon.
Under Profile, select Feedback.
Enter your suggestions.
Hit Next.

Additionally, we can turn on the Custom transaction numbers feature. You can do that by accessing your account through a web browser. It will auto-generate an invoice number when you create new transactions. I'll guide you how:

Go to the Gear icon.
Under Your Company, select the Account and settings.
Click the Sales tab.
Select the Sales form content edit pencil icon.
Turn on the Custom transactions numbers.
Hit Save, and then Done.

You can also customize your invoices to personalize them. Once you receive the payments from your customers, you can enter them in QBO to keep your record up-to-date and accurate.

I don't understand this response.... the invoice number used to auto-populate in the subject line, but then a few weeks ago it stopped working. The text [Invoice #] is in the email subject line by default - why would it do that, if auto-populating with the invoice number is not a feature?

I understand how convenient it is to auto-populate invoice numbers when sending invoices via email. Currently, the option to auto-populate an invoice number isn't available in the QuickBooks Online app. As a workaround, you can manually edit the invoice number in the subject line of each email you send to your customers.

I also recommend providing feedback to our product developers so that they can consider including this in future QuickBooks Online app updates. You can follow the steps outlined by Maybelle_S.
