Gas for company truck

How do I record payments for gasoline for my two company trucks in QuickBooks? They are both the actual expense method.

You can use the Expense function in QuickBooks to record the payments. Let me show you how:

 

  1. Click the Plus (+) icon in the upper-right hand of QuickBooks. 
  2. Select Expense under Vendors
  3. Enter all other details including Payee, Payment account, Payment date, and Payment method
  4. Select the category used for gasoline or truck expenses in the Category section.
  5. Enter the Amount.
  6. Click Save.
