GL Report Margins

Hello,

My General Ledger report is not showing up as a full page anymore. It use to show up as one page with wider margins so I can easily see the totals. Is there any way to widen the margins. I am not trying to export to a file. I'm just looking at it in QB.

Thanks!

Re: GL Report Margins

Hi cofildl,

We can drag the column widths to the right to widen them, but not to narrow them. I also notice this change lately, including the hidden part of the balances. I’ll let our engineers know that you're concerned about it. That way, they can consider redesigning the reports in future updates.

In the meantime, you can use the slider at the bottom to see the full amounts of the balances. You can also export the report to Excel to have a full view of it.

Feel free to post back if you have other questions.

I'm having this same issue and support doesn't know how to fix.  The slider won't give me the full view either.  What is going on? This only starting happening in the past week that we can't see the entire GL.

This GL issue is happening to me as well.  Can't see the entire GL report and the slider doesn't help by moving. This just started happening a week ago.  What is going on?

Thanks for joining the conversation, @karcpa.

I tried pulling up the General Ledger report on all my test accounts and verified that it looks exactly the same as what is showing on your end. Let me send another feedback to our engineers regarding this for consideration in future product enhancements.

In the meantime, you can also reorder the columns as additional workaround to see the total amount. Here’s how:

  1. On your General Ledger Report, click the Customize button.
  2. Expand the Rows/Columns by clicking it.
  3. Select the column you want to move and drag it up or down between the other columns using the square dots.
  4. Hit Run report.

Drag 1.PNG Drag 2.PNG Drag 3.PNG

For more details, check out this article: How to customize reports. See Run reports for future reference.

Please leave a comment if you have additional questions. I’m more than happy to help. Have a great day!

Re: GL Report Margins

Yes, I've tried everything, so what I did for a work around is moving the adj column over to the right and it at least pushes the balance to the left so I can see it.  Don't really want to have to do this on every client though.

One last thing, I have noted that the amount and balance column are "right justified" instead of centered.  This shouldn't be an enhancement but a "fix".  Everyone will have this issue until someone changes the justification.  This just stated happening a week or so ago (date 8.16.19 today).

Re: GL Report Margins

Thanks for the response.  I have tried reordering columns for now.  Moved the adj column to the far right so the balance column moves over to the left.  Don't want to have to do this on every client.  This report has been changed in the last week as I view it on clients all the time and haven't ever had this issue.

I have noted that the amount and balance are now left justified instead of centered like all other column headings and you will see this as well on your test reports.

This needs to be "fixed" and not added as an enhancement.  You will get more and more complaints.  I have also reported in the enhancement section and to support. Hope it doesn't take long to fix this!

Thanks!
