Hey there, @heidi20

It's great to see a new face here in the QuickBooks Community. You can add the quantity to an item when you create one by a few easy steps. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Lists menu.
  2. Pick the Item list option.

       3. Press the Item drop-down menu and choose New

       4. Once you set the item up as an inventory, you can add the quantity on hand

       5. Once you're done filling in the information, tap OK

For future reference, here are two articles that can provide some more information for your business:

Let me know if this helps. If you're referring to something else, please send some screenshots or any other details you can gather so that I can determine the best solution for your business. Have a splendid evening!

thank you for the reply,

the items i am referring to are all services.  i would like a function that add up the hours for each store.  i have 64 stores and so many services.  i have to create an excel spreadsheet and do it by hand which takes all day.  is there something i can create in QB?

Hello, @heidi20.

Thank you for sharing the additional information. I see that having this function would be helpful in your business. However, this function is not available in QuickBooks, but rest assured that this suggested feature will be submitted to our developers to improve our product.
