How can I change the parent account for a credit card account?

I'm glad you've visited the QuickBooks Community space. Here's how to change the parent account.

1. On the left panel, click Accounting then choose, Chart of Accounts.
2. Locate the sub-account.
3. From Action column, select Edit.
4. Choose the correct parent account on the Is Sub-Account field.
5. Click Save and Close.

Repeat these steps for the remaining sub-account type.

Don't hesitate to click the Reply button for your other concerns.

I don't have the Accounting option. Is this something only the accountant would be able to fix, or am I missing where to find that feature?

I'll share some details and screenshot where you can locate the option.

The Accounting option is also available in other versions of QuickBooks Online. You can find it on the left navigation menu. In case you don't have the menu, please make sure to click on the hamburger icon to display it.

You can also find the Chart of Accounts option when you go to the Gear icon.
