Welcome to the Community, dfriederich95.

You can save the invoice as a draft in QuickBooks Self-Employed, so you're able to print it.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to QBSE.
  2. From the Invoices menu, click on the Create invoice button.
  3. Fill in all the fields and make sure to enter the email address.
  4. Click on the Send invoice drop down and choose Save as draft.4.PNG
  5. On the Invoices page, locate the transaction you just saved.
  6. Then, click on the Send invoice drop down under Action and select Print.6.PNG

Let me share this article for further guidance: What's new with QuickBooks Self-Employed Invoicing?.

On the other hand, the option to add more description or notes when creating an invoice is currently unavailable in QBSE.

Our product engineers are looking for ways to make QBSE better for all users. I'll prepare a feedback statement directly to them and get this feature be implemented in the future.

For now, I encourage staying current on all the QuickBooks news and announcements by visiting our blogs.

I'll also notify you here if this feature becomes available.

Please let me know if you need anything else. I'm always here to lend a hand. Take care and have a great day.
