How can I delete a contractor and add them as an employee?

Let me show you how, lewis-teresa-tl.

 

We can't permanently delete a contractor in QuickBooks Online. What we can do is to make them inactive, then create another profile for employee. You can follow these steps on how to make it inactive:

  1. Go to Expenses tab and select Vendors.
  2. Locate the vendor's (contractor) profile. From the Action column, select Make inactive.
  3. Click Yes to confirm.

We can now add it as your employee:

  1. From the Workers tab, select Employees.
  2. Click on Add an employee and enter all the details needed.
  3. Select Done to save it.

You can also use this article for your reference to make sure that you properly set up your payroll. In addition, you can invite your employees to see pay stubs and W-2s online.
