How can I link multiple credit card accounts from the same institution?

I have 2 different credit cards from BMO bank. Each has different login credentials. Whenever I reconnect the one account, the other one can't pull the transactions.

You’ll need to create these credit card accounts as sub-accounts in QuickBooks, ydemirkaya.

This way you’ll be able to connect both of them at the same time. Here’s how to create a sub account:

  1. Click the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Select Chart of accounts and select New.
  3. Select Credit card as the Account type and the Detail type.
  4. Enter your desired name.
  5. Put a check mark on the box next to Is sub-account.
  6. Select the Parent account.
  7. Enter the balance and click Save and Close.

Do these steps for each of the credit card involved. For additional details, please check these articles:

I opened a new account and put both credit cards under it as sub accounts but nothing changed! I get error message saying account not found then I update login info for that account, i got same error for other credit card. Looks like QBO online saves only one credentials for same institution.

Your suggestion doesn't make any change. Both credit cards under one account as sub-account and both supposed to use different logins from same bank. Whenever I change the login info for one card, other one changes too so basically QBO only saves one login for both cards. I assume it is happening because both are from same bank!

Thanks for sharing to us the steps you’ve taken and its result, @ydemirkaya.

Before connecting the accounts, first check with your bank how transactions are downloaded into QuickBooks. This information is essential because it’ll guide you in the setup process.

If they import transactions to only one, connect the parent account. If it downloads to each of the individual accounts, link all of the sub-accounts.

As long as the credit cards are properly setup in QuickBooks, you can input the same login credentials used in your bank. For detailed instructions about the setup process, I suggest following the articles provided by @MikiD.
