How can I make sure recurring sales receipts for my non profit fall under the "contributions income" > "unrestricted donations" instead of "nonprofit" revenue?

Hello @denise6,

It's nice to have you in the Community. I'd be glad to assist you with having your sales receipts fall under the correct accounts.

Just to clarify, are you wishing to change the income account that's associated with your recurring sales receipts? If so, you may wish to consider changing the income account that's associated with the product/service that's on the recurring transactions.  Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Select Products and Services.
  3. Select Edit in the Action column for the product/service that you'd like to edit.
  4. Select the Income account that you'd like to use in the drop-down arrow. You will have the option to Also update this account in historical transactions, which will change all of the transactions that used this item.
  5. Click Save and Close.

For additional information on this, such as what to do if past transactions don't show the changes, I recommend the following article: How To Change The Account For A Product/Service Item.

Naturally, you may want to reach out to your accountant to ensure that the items are best configured for the organization.

That'll do it. I'm confident that these resources will help to get you on the right path.

Let me know if you need anything. Hoping that this response finds you with a smile.
