Here in QBO, there are two ways to view manually entered journal entries transactions. You can either run a Journal report in your company or utilize the Advanced Search feature that we have here in QuickBooks. I'll walk you through these options so you can find what works best for you and then proceed to complete your tasks.
To use run a Journal report, here's how:
- Access your QuickBooks Online company.
- On the left navigational bar, go to the Reports tab.
- In the Search bar, type Journal as your keyword and then click the Journal report.
- Filter the Report period section to get the list of transactions in that specific period.
- Click the Customize button beside the Save customization button.
- Go to Rows/Columns, and then click Change columns.
- Tick the box beside the Number. This will add a column in your report to view reference number.
- Once you're ready, hit the Run report button below.

If you want to use the Advance Search feature, these are the simple steps:
- Go to the Search icon at the top.
- Click the Advanced Search link.
- Input the appropriate date range.
- Enter the reference number in the REF NO. field. You can also enter the amount inside the listed transaction.
- Once you're ready, click Search.
