How can I set up my Early Payment Discount under payment terms so it applies automatically like it did in the desktop version?

A pleasant day to you, @cpoe.

At this time, being able to set up an Early Payment Discount under payment terms is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online. Instead, you'll need to manually add the discount percentage on the sales forms.

Before doing so, you have to enable the Discount feature from the Account and Settings section.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon on the top menu.
  2. Choose Account and Settings.
  3. Hit the Sales tab on the menu.
  4. In the Sales form content section, tick the pencil ✏ icon to edit it.
  5. Select the Discount checkbox to turn it on.
  6. Press the Save button and then Done.

Once done, you can now use the discount field on your sales transaction by choosing the Discount percentage or value.

Please see the sample screenshot attached for reference:

You can also check out this article complete details about this process: Add a discount to an invoice or sales receipt in QuickBooks Online.

I like let you know that our developers are always looking for ideas to consider on how to improve QBO. I'll personally submit this preference to them, so they can assess the suggestion.

I'm just a clicks away if you should have any questions. Thanks for coming, and have a great rest of your week.
